Our neighbors had a Red Maple fall in their yard, so I was able to harvest the wood and make a number of objects from it. Some of the wood was starting to exhibit spalting, which added to the character of several pieces. The drying process made expansion cracking a constant challenge.
The cheese board is approximately 16″ x 8″, finished with food safe mineral oil.
The large bowls are 8.75″ W x 2.75″ H and finished with Tried & True Original Wood Finish.
The small bowls are 5.75 W x 2.75″ H and finished with Osmo Polyx-Oil High Solid clear satin.
The small cup is 4″ W x 3.5″ H and finished with General Finishes Wood Turners Finish, clear.
